• The photo shows Samir Singh, Global Vice President Lifebuoy Unilever, and Frank Braeken, Executive Vice President Africa Unilever, visiting NPC Buruburu Primary School, Nairobi on Global Handwashing Day to teach children how and when to wash their hands. This was part of Lifebuoy's day of activities in Nairobi to celebrate Global Handwashing Day which included a press conference to announce Unilever’s partnership with Millennium Villages and a dinner to discuss handwashing with soap and public-private partnership activities with senior attendees from the Kenyan government, NGOs and Unilever.
• Lifebuoy’s “School of Five” programme teaches children to wash their hands with soap on five occasions throughout the day by using engaging and interactive games, songs, dances and a practical glo-germ demonstration.
• Lifebuoy partners with NGOs and charities including PSI, the Earth Institute’s Millennium Village Project and UNICEF to deliver handwashing programmes across the world.
• Lifebuoy celebrated Global Handwashing Day this year in 44 countries. Activities included setting new handwashing Guinness World Records, thousands of Unilever employees volunteering to teach handwashing in schools, Global Handwashing Day 5th birthday celebrations, celebrity ambassadors and a pledge programme.
