The Global Hand Washing Day health hygiene campaign was organized by OID Pakistan wash team with the support of WHO-Pakistan with full zeal & enthusiasm at village at Eid Gah Sharif Camp UC Karim Bux, Taulka Thul, district Jacobabad. The high-ups of WHO-Pakistan, District Government Jacobabad, OID PAKISTAN were participated in this event. The major objective of event was to enhance the importance, sense of realization regarding Global Hand Washing Day 15-OCT health & hygiene in WHO WASH intervention areas. There is more than 7,000 participants were participated including men, women & children.
Abstract:
The Global Hand Washing Day health hygiene campaign campaign-Walk was organized by OID Pakistan wash team with the support of WHO with full zeal & enthusiasm village at Eid Gah Sharif Camp UC Karim Bux, Taulka Thul, district Jacobabad.The high-ups of WHO-OID Organization For Integrated Development Pakistan and Disrict Government Jacobabad were participated in this event. The major objective of event was to enhance the importance, sense of realization regarding Global Hand Washing Day15-Oct health & hygiene where more than 7,000 participants were participated including men, women & children. The detail of event is as under:
Formal Inauguration of Event:
The former inauguration of programme started with recitation of holly book by Ms. Fozia. Then Mr. Latif Soomro introduced to all guests who have belongs to OID Pakistan, WHO & District Government officials. Then the series of speeches have been carried out regarding to importance of health & Hygiene & its promotion. In spite of speeches, dialogue the demonstrations of hand washing were also done by children who have got health & hygiene trainings by OID with the support of WHO. During discussing the learning of hygiene Ms. Fozia shared her views & said that “Hygiene sessions have save our lives” further she emphasized on maintaining habit of Washing hands with soap, she also define the hygiene with the reflection of Islam. After the sharing of Ms. Fozia, one is school going student Mr. Ashique done the demonstration of hand washing which he was learn during the hygiene session conducted by OID Pakistan. Akhtiar Ali & Kalsoom, washes his hands & shared that steps / tips & process of hand washing. The most important advantage of hand washing is that you prevent yourself from getting infected by a number of dangerous ailments. People who are careless about washing their hands are at a higher risk of catching a cold or flu. Not washing hands has also the ability to cause gastrointestinal illnesses and also diarrhea which can spread to the whole family. It has also been seen that improper or not washing hands can cause pneumonia in old people and in people who are diagnosed with chronic diseases. As not washing hands can affect the health of your entire family, learning the proper way of hand washing is essential to stay healthy.
During discussion it is shared by Mr. Shahid Qureshi that Infectious diseases claim a lot of lives and cause many serious disabilities, some of which can be permanent, such as blindness. Eighty percent of the incidences of these diseases are related to inadequate water supply, sanitation and hygiene. The promotion of better hygiene, alone, or in combination with better water supply and/or sanitation, can have a major impact on reducing disease prevalence and public and private health costs.
At the end Ms. Zuhra Khoso District Officer (Social Welfare) Community Development Department Jacobabad conclude whole event and shared that our religion strongly focused on health and hygiene and WHO took excellent efforts for development of rural masses in outreach areas of district. She is very happy to such a productive and organized event at village level & shared that these type of events become very helpful for sensitization and realization for health and hygiene in respective union council.
At the end of event Mr. Latif Soomro thanked to all participants and guests who spare their precious time especially district government officers.
