Effects of Hand Hygiene Campaigns on Incidence of Laboratory-confirmed Influenza and Absenteeism in Schoolchildren, Cairo, Egypt

This study examines the impact of hand hygiene campaigns on the incidence of laboratory-confirmed influenza illness and missed school days, in children.

Globally, children miss a combined 242 million days of school each year due to diarrhea. Handwashing can help keep children healthy and in school, as this study found.
