For Global Hand-washing Day, African Impact – Livingstone Community Projects went to Libuyu Community to run a hand hygiene and tippy-tapy course. With an audience of around 50 community members, we demonstrated how to set up a tippy tap, an easily created tool for hand washing in communities. We set up one with the community members and then taught them the 8 steps of hand washing. Our volunteers then performed a series of short skits demonstrating the importance of hand hygiene. Huge thanks to www.tippytap.org for all the information!
The community members then used the tippy taps and brainstormed about where in the community they could work to set up another. They agreed on a local preschool run in the home of one of the community members. It was an exciting and successful day!
