Since 2020, Safeguard has officially launched the #Spread Health across China# program, dedicated to promoting hygiene knowledge and correct handwashing habits to 100 million people. On October 14, 2023, Safeguard, in collaboration with the Population Culture Development Center of National Health Commission, launched the 2023 “Spread Health across China, Handwashing in Action” program at the National Aquatics Center (also known as the Water Cube), building upon last year’s success.  “Ten Scenarios, Scientific Handwashing” initiative was proposed to popularize correct handwashing knowledge among the population. Representatives of National Health Commission, representatives of health industry associations, medical experts, news media representatives, enterprises representatives, blogger representatives, and specially invited Ouyang Xiadan (famous hostess) as the host, all participated in the program.

Comprehensive Upgrade of Health Science Popularization Content, Further Standardizing Industry Standards 

The “Spread Health across China, Handwashing in Action” program has been upgraded in 2023. Building upon last year’s “Ten Key Points for Scientific Handwashing,” Safeguard, in collaboration with the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences has jointly released the 《2023 Scientific Handwashing Initiative》. Through research, it has been discovered that there is a widespread problem of pathogenic bacterial contamination in various daily life scenarios, with significant variations in the types and composition of pathogenic bacteria in specific scenarios. High rates of pathogenic bacteria detection and diverse species have been found in places such as express delivery and distribution centers, public transportation (shared bicycles, subways), gyms, public spaces, and hospitals, indicating a serious issue of pathogenic bacterial contamination. Therefore, to reinforce public awareness of standardized handwashing procedures like the seven-step handwashing method and address the need for education on handwashing scenarios, we have jointly launched the “Ten Scenarios, Scientific Handwashing” initiative. This aims to provide the public with a comprehensive and systematic understanding of the importance of handwashing, while encouraging all sectors of society to actively participate in promoting accurate handwashing knowledge. Together, we strive for a healthier future. 

Authoritative Media Jointly Release Health Song, Promoting the “Ten Scenarios” to Deepen Public Awareness 

To raise awareness of scientific handwashing knowledge, Safeguard has teamed up with authoritative media XINHUANET to release the “Ten Scenarios Handwashing Song”. We are honored to have Safeguard’s brand ambassador, Tan Jianci, lend his voice to this special song, which incorporates the “Ten Handwashing Scenarios” . Through this song, we aim to promote healthy lifestyle habits and spread the message of a healthy and positive life. 

Event Draws to a Successful Close, Setting Off on a New Journey towards Health 

Through this initiative, we call on the public to practice from “Ten Scenarios, Scientific Handwashing”, make consumers to start with the simple act of handwashing, and cultivate healthy hygiene habits. We also urge all sectors of society to join this movement and collectively promote accurate handwashing knowledge, spreading the concept of a healthy lifestyle. Safeguard will keep its original mission, specializing in health and safeguarding the well-being of the nation, contributing to the program of Spread Health across China.
