This year UNICEF will support the celebration of Global Handwashing Day in two focus provinces with six schools participating in the event. The celebration will be joined by the District/Vice Governors and key officials from province and district. More than 500 people including children will celebrate the event through cultural and drama performances, songs and games related to handwashing. UNICEF will also work with the media to highlight the importance of handwashing with soap using TV spots on handwashing produced by UNICEF. During the month of October, the Youth Radio program in 12 provinces will disseminate key messages on the benefits of handwashing with soap and organize quiz competitions with prizes. .
