The Centre for Integrated Development and Research (CIDAR) International & UNICEF celebrated Global Handwashing Day on 16 October 2017. Its main event were planned with children in the IDPs camps in Maiduguri, Borno State. We conducted 6 events in Muna El Badawe Camp, Muna Custom House 1 & 2, El Miskin Centre, and Madinatu in the town of Maiduguri and in Agric Camps in Maonguno. The event involved over 100 children in each camp who participated in camp rally with banners, t-shirts and caps. There was a street play drama by CIDAR at each camp, after which the children washed their hands with soap and water. We had visits from UNICEF and state government during he event. After the completion of hand washing activity we distributed biscuits, wafers, and toffees.
