This Global Handwashing Day, we’re asking the question, “Why are clean hands still important?” Through my role as the secretariat director of the Global Handwashing Partnership, I know clean hands are fundamental in safeguarding public health, preventing infections, and promoting well-being. And on a personal level, I see handwashing with soap as an important step I can take to protect my family and friends. No matter where you are in the world, handwashing with soap is a simple but critically needed measure for living a healthy life.
