This year, International Medical Corps celebrated Global Handwashing Day(GHD) with the theme “CHOOSE HANDWASHING, CHOOSE HEALTH!” meaning that washing hands with soap is an essential behavior for health.
GHD, was celebrated colorfully with very impressing and remarkable events. IMC trained Community Hygiene Promoterss performed songs about handwashing with soap, with an acommpanying music band, traditional dance. A street parade began at the Hygiene Center and processed to the celebration site. During the parade, participants sang “CHOOSE HANDWASHING, CHOOSE HELATH!” as they marched. Over 2,500 refugees were spectators or participants in this event.
