11 schools across the Easter Samar Region of the Philippines celebrate Global Handwashing Day 2014 with a whole week of activities!
To kick off the event, Provincial and City governments launched public service announcements over the radio. The partners launched contests in the schools in which students could submit an art piece (e.g. photos, songs, drawings, paintings) each containing a message about the importance of hand hygiene. Other activities included building “tippy taps” and staging “handwashing mob” demonstrations.
The week concluded with a parade through the Eastern Samar Capital and showcasing the winners from the art competition.
