ACTIVEX in coordination with Ministry of Education celebrated Global Handwashing Day, in primary schools in the rural area of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
the Ministry of Education coordinated one teacher from each school to join a two day hygiene training held by clinical microbiologist Dr Kaya Suer. The teachers then returned to their respective schools with education materials and soap to spread the word about the benefits of handwashing.
ACTIVEX also distributed promotional materials to local stores and sold them soap at a highly discounted price as well as sponsoring TV and radio spots to promote handwashing with soap.
