Big Shanty Intermediate School has 620 students and 50 teachers who watched a video about handwashing geared specifically to our students. Organizers hung a variety of posters all over the school and in all the student bathrooms and some staff bathrooms. Including volunteers, visitors, and parents picking up students from class, 1,000 people were exposed to some form of information about the importance of handwashing over the course of the week-long celebration. The students and staff were exposed to a variety of information everyday everywhere in the building and for weeks afterward the students were still singing Happy Birthday while washing their hands.
