The Centre for Environment Education and UNICEF in India collaborated by celebrating Global Handwashing Day in collaboration with the MD and RDPR departments in 30 districts of Karnataka State, reaching 36,250,379 students in 49,837 schools. The Student Development Committee members at the Centre promoted fellow students the awareness of the importance of handwashing with soap.
