Giridhar Eye Institute in India, along with Inner Wheel of Cochin, conducted handwashing awareness campaign in various schools in the city of Cochin and taught the children the importance of handwashing and the steps. Various educational posters were also distributed. 500 students were addressed in the campaign that included the lower primary classes. On October 15th, an exhibition was conducted in hospital campus. Awareness classes were taken for all patients and visitors and a quiz program on handwashing was also conducted for them. Around 800 people were benefited with this. A poster competition on hand hygiene was also conducted for hospital staff.
