GOAL Syria celebrated GHD 2014 by distributing posters and brochures to adults and children around mosques, hospitals and collective centres in Northern Syria. Collective centres are abandoned schools and community spaces where internally displaced people have settled after being displaced from their homes – a consequence of the ongoing conflict in Syria. In addition, the team gifted bars of soap to students in 18 schools throughout rural and urban areas. GOAL’s team was well-received by the schools, students and local community, and the Hygiene Promotion team completed the campaign with smiles and pride.
