The Department of Community Medicine at GMERS Medical College celebrated on 15th October in two schools of Vadodara City of Gujarat state, India. This activity was carried out as outreach activity in the field practice area of Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC) of the department. Activities included demonstration and practice of proper handwashing techniques to school children, poster competitions, health talks on handwashing and benefits. Health talks on the importance and benefits of handwashing including practical demonstration of hand washing techniques by the faculties of the department. This was followed by practice of hand washing by each student under direct supervision of interns’ doctors. Drawing competition was also organized for these children in both the schools on hand washing and cleanness theme, with prizes distributed to winners.
