Where: Haiti
Organization:International Aid
Number of Participants: Over 75 people over two days
On August 14 and 15, 2015, three members of International Aid’s Health Product Department held two educational handwashing clinics in Cazale, Haiti, at our partner Real Hope for Haiti’s, medical clinic and community center. The focus was to reinforce the importance of properly washing our hands with soap and water to protect against disease-causing germs. The events were held in celebration of Global Handwashing Day. Over 50 people attended our clinic on Friday and 25 children attended our Saturday clinic. Activities at each clinic included educational discussions centered around germ prevention, a hand washing relay activity and distribution of International Aid’s hygiene kits to participants after the clinic. Our clinics, though designed specifically to celebrate Global Handwashing Day, reinforced hygiene education that is already taking place within the Cazale community.
