A handwashing celebration was held from 15 October up-to 19 November 2015 and it was a big event. In Hargeisa, Somaliland Global Handwashing Day was conducted in an orphanage center. The event objective was to emphasize the importance of handwashing as a global do-it-your self vaccine and one of the most effective and inexpensive ways to prevent diarrhea diseases. Children at the orphanage demonstrated proper handwashing. Hygiene materials were distributed and Asha Mohamed, head of the orphanage center, talked about the importance of handwashing with the soap.
