A clinic in Indonesia used art and song to teach handwashing technique to children, teachers and parents.
To celebrate Global Handwashing Day, the Mitra Sehati Clinic in Cileunyi, Bandung, Indonesia organized several activities for children and parents participating in their Early Childhood Development program. The focus of the event was to teach the 11 steps of handwashing with soap. 50 participants including children, parents and teachers painted hand prints on a cloth banner to signify “dirty hands”. Afterwards, they washed the paint off their hands according to the 11 steps. Participants also made an instructional movie on the 11 steps of handwashing with an accompanying song.
