In promoting this hygiene event with Forest Grove Elementary, International Aid recognized handwashing with soap and water as a pillar of international development and public health. International Aid staff developed an interactive and fun educational piece to show how germs can be spread and promote proper handwashing with soap and water. After the educational piece, students were able to put into action what they’d learned as they participated in a handwashing relay. Our team also added a meaningful component where the students packed 2,100 hygiene kits and a portion was sent to the flood victims in South Carolina.
