International Medical Corps celebrated in the Azraq camp in Jordan on October 15. The Community Health Team hosted the event with 10 events at the camp, in which they demonstrated the importance of handwashing and personal hygiene through a role play starring the community health workers at events for the general public. In addition, they taught the proper way to wash hands and kids joined us on stage for the demonstration and played a Q & A game with the children. At invitation-based events, refreshments, brochures, and personal hygiene kits were distributed. In total, International Medical Corps successfully conveyed key handwashing message to more than 3,200 refugees during these events. Even after October 15, IMC has been extending valuable handwashing information among the camp’s 35,000 refugee population.
