Kenya Connect is hosting handwashing celebrations at all our 55 partner schools. Our kick-off event is a presentation about handwashing to the 55 Headmasters at the Kenya Connect Learning Resource Center on October 12. We will recap the success of our new liquid soap making program. At the meeting, we will announce the winners of the Global Handwashing Day poetry and essay contest for students at our partner schools. The Headmasters will receive tote bags that include hand washing information and posters to hang at their schools. On October 13, Executive Director Sharon Runge, KC board members and our staff will be visiting partner schools to celebrate handwashing and to demonstrate proper handwashing techniques. On Saturday, October 14, the poetry and essay winners will be presented with a tote bag, liquid soap and award certificate at the Kenya Connect 5k Run.
