Pakistan Institute for Environment Development Action Research (PIEDAR) as part of its environmental education/WASH program both in Rawalpindi and Islamabad schools successfully 1,345 engaged students, teachers, and parents in understanding the meaning of ‘Our Hands our Future’, followed by practically washing their hands from the 2nd to the 15th of October. The Global Handwashing Day 2017 activities culminate in all schools holding poster or speech competition, in which the necessity of washing ones hands properly with soap were highlighted and with participants pledging to make lifelong commitments toward making handwashing with soap a habit.
