As part of the Global Handwashing Month celebration and in order to achieve a healthier Puerto Rico, Protex made several efforts during the month of October. These efforts included a donation of products to La Fondita de Jesus in Santurce, organization that provides support and facilitates the basic needs of the homeless, and a visit to the Luis Muñoz Marín Park in San Juan to educate the visitors on how to correctly perform hand washing. Protex participated with an organization that took immunization clinics to five different municipalities across Puerto Rico, and used mobile handwashing station to five cities in order to explain the correct procedure to the attendees. Also to spread the message through social networks during the month of October, Protex made a call to use the hashtag #YoLavoMisManosPR next to a photo washing their hands or an educational message. More than 1,000 people were engaged approximately as part of in-person activities and more than 10,000 across the island have been reached through media efforts.
