Provincial Handwashing Seminar in Lahore

A provincial level event was celebrated at Pearl Continental Hotel, by Plan International in collaboration with UNICEF, WaterAid, PHED, AGAHE, and Mobilink. This event was celebrated as an opportunity to ask government to provide access to handwashing facilities in schools, health care centers and homes as 320 children die in Pakistan every day due to diarrheal diseases – the leading cause of mortality for children under the age of five in the country while hand washing with soap before eating food and after using latrine can significantly reduce this number.

Little angels from a government school performed a tableau and young leaders from private college performed mime to seek attention towards handwashing with soap. Coke studio renowned, Bakhshi Brother spread the magic of their voices to ask for cleanliness. See more pictures of this event here.
