Organizer: Première Urgence – Aide Médicale Internationale, UNICEF
Since the beginning of the month, PU-AMI, in partnership with the Unicef, launched a mass campaign throughout the country, through radio (10 messages a day on Delta radio since the beginning of October 2015) and phone messages (1,750 households have received a total of 4 targeted SMS). This complements the health awareness sessions that are led on a daily basis in Informal Settlements, Collective shelters, Public Health Centers, and schools.
In Akkar, Northern Lebanon, 2 special days were organized for over 500 Lebanese children. Through a series of games and activities, these children learned about the benefits of handwashing in a fun way. At the end of the day, they were given a kit containing all the elements they need to keep good hygiene: a comb, a toothbrush, a coloring book with hygiene messages along with crayons, and, of course, soap. This activity was part of a humanitarian program funded by the UNICEF in Lebanon.
