The Ritz Carlton Doha celebrated Global Handwashing Day 2017 in Doha by hosting a lunchtime handwashing event with 80 employees, particularly food handlers. Organizers used the Glow germ gel and UV light for educating the staff. Overall it was a great success, especially for employees who haven’t got a chance to attend this event during previous celebrations.
The event included displaying handwashing posters in the hotel, where maximum employees gathering; engaging employees in a group or individually and asking them how often and importance of handwashing and how they usually performing handwashing, which was followed up with explaining the correct method via live demonstrations and performed the gel activity. Employees who failed to perform proper handwashing were retrained again and shown the areas to be concentrated during handwashing. Organizers also recorded the activity for future reference and provided Appreciation certificate to employees.
