The Rwandan Youth Development and Voluntary Organization celebrates Global Handwashing Day

In developing countries, over 2,000 children die every day from diarrheal diseases.

Handwashing is a life saver and it is one of the most effective ways to reduce diarrheal diseases and acute respiratory  infections.

Under the support of SULFO Rwanda industry, Burega, and other stakeholders, the Rwandan Youth Development and Voluntary Organization (RWAYDAVO) celebrated Global Handwashing Day in the Rulindo district in northern Rwanda.

In this campaign RWAYDAVO taught elementary school aged children, youth, and parents the importance of handwashing with soap, including how and when to wash their hands, how to reduce hygiene related diseases such as diarrhea and acute respiratory infections, and promoted a global and local vision of handwashing with soap.
