UNICEF and ACTED held events on October 15, 17, and 19 in Zaatari Refugee camp targeting children, adults and with activities taking place in ACTED community centers & districts schools. Activities included handwashing competition, games, Face painting, puppet show, video presentations. In addition soap bars were distributed for each participant attending (1 per child, 2 per adult with a total of 4,350 soap bars). In total, ACTED hygiene promotion team members, school teachers, and UNICEF camp WASH team members reached 3842 Syrian refugees.
Together with OXFAM, UNICEF held events on October 15, and from October 17 until October 23, in Zaatari Refugee camp, targeting children with activities taking place in a spacious camp partner playground. Activities included handwashing demonstration at critical times, awareness sessions, puppet show skits, songs and games. OXFAM hygiene promotion team members, other camp NGOs, & the UNICEF WASH team reached 727 children.
JEN and UNICEF held events on October 15 & 16 in Zaatari Refugee camp. Targeting children, adults and with activities taking place in JEN community centers, these activities included handwashing demonstration, hygiene stories, games and songs, and awareness sessions. JEN hygiene promotion team members and the UNICEF WASH team reached 675 Syrian refugees.
Together with Action Against Hunger, UNICEF held events on October 15 and carried out activities until the end of October in Azraq Refugee Camp, targeting children and adults in four villages. Activities took place at Makani centers, youth centers, CARE centers, health clinics, which were lead by Mothers’ Groups, who conducted handwashing demonstrations, skits & puppet shows, coloring and painting , and soap bars distributions. Action Against Hunger hygiene promotion team members and the UNICEF WASH team reached 532 Syrian refugees.
