UNICEF held events in eight regions. These events promoted the practice of handwashing with soap through posters in school and handwashing demonstrations among students, which were supervised by teachers. Campaigns promoting hygiene were also held in health centers to raise awareness of hygiene practices to prevent diseases. In addition, to encourage making handwashing a habit, UNICEF targeted people in flooding prone areas with animations, which demonstrated the steps of proper handwashing, as well as through games.
