For the fourth year in a row, United Purpose and PZ Cussons are leading a month long Global Handwashing Day campaign. In nine LGAs in Cross River and Benue States, 3,000 children are empowered as Hygiene Heroes from October 3rd through the 5th. Through fun and interactive games, and by performing to Sunny Neji’s campaign anthem ‘Wash Your Hands O’, children learn about the importance of handwashing. On October 7th. a Global Handwashing Day breakfast meeting takes place in Calabar, hosted by the First Lady of Cross River State. The campaign culminates in a major final celebration in Lagos (Oriental Hotel) on October 14th. This event will be attended by 200 Hygiene Heroes from different schools in Lagos. Together with a range of VIP guests and other representatives, they will be entertained and informed on handwashing with soap by some of Nigeria’s top performers, including Sunny Neji and Koffi.
