Students celebrate at Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala

Where: Guatemala
Organizer: Biological Chemistry at Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala

As a part of our HAI course, senior students of Biological Chemistry at Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala decided to celebrate the Global Handwashing Day on October 16th. Two weeks previous to that day we made a survey to nurses, doctors, and other hospital personnel, the results showed that around 25% of the sample believed alcohol-based sanitizer could sustitute washing your hands with soap and water, so we presented the results and educated the personnel the day of the celebration. We made the activity at San Juan de Dios General Hospital, and educated more than 300 people, most of them, healthcare workers,.
