Number of Participants: Over 700 people
A number of activities were planned including a Public Pledge on Hygiene and Sanitation-signing as part of a Government declaration of renewed commitment to Sanitation and Hygiene, handwashing parade while chanting the sanitation anthem, school hygiene competitions, exhibitions and demonstrations of various innovations on hand washing, and the launch of the Handwashing with Soap Behavior Change Communication Campaign and Tool Kits. The President of Uganda was the Guest of Honor and was represented by the Vice President.
