On 15 October 2014, the WASH-B team of icddr,b celebrated Global Handwashing Day in Mymensing, Gazipur, Tangail, and Kishoregonj District. Around 3,500 children participated in the handwashing awareness campaign.
The event featured a handwashing related quiz, rhymes, handwashing station & soapy water demonstration, and a gift giving ceremony. Children learned proper handwashing methods and participants committed to change their traditional handwashing practices from now on to protect themselves from five communicable diseases.
