The Namwala District Council held a school-based celebration, which was organised by the District Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Education (D-WASHE) Committee and supported by World Vision, UNICEF, and Caritas. 789 people, including government heads, pupils, teachers, and community members celebrated by installing 68 tippy taps around the Itapa primary school with demonstrations conducted by delegates. Messages in songs, debate, speeches, drama, poems, and cultural groups emphasized making handwashing a habit.
