Zuru, Nigeria Celebrates Global Handwashing Day

Organizer: Taiwo Seun James
Number of Participants: 400

Along with a friend, James visited 2 schools (Army Day Schools and Radiating International schools). At each venue, the event started with James asking if the students knew about the Global Handwashing Day, and only one student mentioned she had previously. James then explained the aim of the campaign, educating them on the need of washing of hands with soap and emphasizing the importance of using soap. James mentioned the diseases that could be contacted through the germs and then demonstrated to them the proper way to wash hands with soap. After this, James got volunteer students and have them also demonstrate to their peers what they had just seen. A few teachers also joined us.
