The Global Handwashing Partnership

Introducing the Handwashing Thursday Series

October 1, 2020

The Handwashing Handbook is launching on Global Handwashing Day! The handbook is based on the experience of the Global Handwashing Partnership and presents best practices and new concepts to improve the uptake of handwashing. It also aims to equip handwashing champions in government, civil society, private sector, and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) with resources for strengthening local systems to support handwashing and tools for planning and implementing successful programs to change handwashing behavior in a variety of contexts.

To amplify the handbook launch, the Global Handwashing Partnership is hosting a Handwashing Thursday Series. The series will complement the chapters of the handbook and provide additional context for various handwashing topics. The series will run from October 1, 2020 thru December 17, 2020. Key dates and topics are detailed below:

  • October 1: Making the Case for Handwashing
  • October 15: Global Handwashing Day/Handwashing Handbook Launch!
  • October 22: Designing and Implementing Handwashing Programs
  • November 5: Monitoring and Evaluating Handwashing Programs
