New Hygiene in Emergencies Page

January 16, 2018

Handwashing with soap is critical to protecting health in emergency settings. Proper handwashing not only prevents the spread of disease after natural disasters, conflict, or other emergencies; it also supports recovery in health, education, and other sectors. Still, handwashing with soap has been identified as a major gap in emergency WASH interventions. Visit the GHP’s new Hygiene in Emergencies page to find guidelines, tools, and other resources to promote and sustain handwashing in post-emergency settings. These include resources on handwashing behavior change and infrastructure for a range of emergency settings.
