This Global Handwashing Day, we’re asking the question, “Why are clean hands still important?” The answer lies in our collective responsibility to safeguard public health, prevent infections, and promote wellbeing. Whether in hospitals, schools, or after everyday interactions, practicing handwashing with soap contributes to better health outcomes and a safer world for everyone.
Here’s how you can get involved with this year’s campaign:
Stay updated. Stay tuned as the latest campaign materials are released on the Global Handwashing Day website. We’ll share infographics, posters, templates, fact sheets, and more as October 15 inches closer.
Spark handwashing conversations online. Share handwashing messages through your social media platforms! Tag us on X (@HandwashingSoap) or Facebook (Global Handwashing Day) and use the hashtag, #GlobalHandwashingDay, to engage with a community of hand hygiene champions.
Participate in the Creating Clean Hands Contest. This contest is targeted to youth 18 years or younger, encouraging them to share their creativity while promoting clean hands. The contest deadline has been extended to Monday, August 5. Learn more here.
