They were urged to promote the practice as the ambassadors to curb the outbreak of cholera and other diseases. Hand washing stands were mounted at vantage points in the market with volunteers manning them to demonstrate on the proper hand washing procedure. The campaign was carried live on My Dear Radio, a community based radio station which is also streamed online to reach a global audience as part of a community broadcast initiative to reach out to the metropolis with the hand washing message. It brought together several advocacy groups. In attendance were Environmental Health Club, KidWid Foundation, Lamisi Reach Out Foundation and 7A Unique Fashion and Catering Services.
