Hygiene & the United Nations General Assembly

This week the international community will gather at the United Nations and agree upon a set of new development objectives–the Global Goals. These 17 goals span the scope of development, but we are particularly excited about Goal 6, which addresses the availability of clean water, improved sanitation, and good hygiene. 
There are a number of events happening in New York around the United Nations General Assembly, and some specifically focus on water, sanitation, and hygiene. We will be attending events, raising a hand for hygiene, and tweeting about our thoughts and learnings. Wondering how you can stay up-to-date and be involved in promoting hygiene at this important juncture?
Here are three ways:
- Follow the Global Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing on Twitter for live updates on events related to hygiene. Be sure to use the hashtags #KeepTheHinWASH or #Goal6!
- Sign our petition asking for a hygiene indicator in the Global Goals.
- Demonstrate your support for Goal 6, the water, sanitation, and hygiene goal, by sharing a picture of yourself on social media with this sign.
